From building condition to lease terms, there are over 40 items worth verifying before you sign anything.

Many apartments in Poland, especially in older kamienica buildings, have quirks that newcomers may overlook: unreliable water pressure, poor insulation leading to sky-high winter heating bills, lack of an elevator (winda) in a fifth-floor walk-up, or outdated electrical wiring that cannot handle modern appliances. These issues are not always visible during a quick tour but can seriously affect your comfort and budget over a 12-month lease.
